Analysis of Ghostly Tales

Murry Priyanshu Rao 2009 (Rayagada, Odisha)

Horrific tales you may have heard
Whispered by your grandma in your ears
Of the souls who are cursed,
The bloody maidens who shred their tears...

Ghosts are those you mayn’t believe
Creepy souls which may give you chills.
Before you could have perceived,
Yells echoes in the sleepy hills..

Few stories people believe
Where leaves rattle and owls squeak.
Graveyards where the cries are heard
Who may rise from coffins in desire of blood!

Mothers hear the tales with frightened stare,
Aunties spread the news like a forest flare!
They peep towards the graves with bulging eyes,
Seems more dreadful than a ghost’s cries!
