Analysis of First
Always the last
Never the first
Sometimes she feels
That her life must be cursed
Always the last
To be asked out on dates
Always the last
To be told she did great
Always the last
To be asked how she feels
Always the last
Invited out to meals
Oh she wishes she could tell them
What a good friend she'd be
She sits quietly in the corner
But her heart cries "Pick me!"
"Encouragement, support,
Help to make your heart sing,
A shoulder to cry on
I can be all these things!"
Oh if they only knew
How it would make her heart burst
To for once not be last
And instead, to be first

About this poem
I've never written any poetry before, but I came up with this not too long ago while feeling down and wanted to submit it to see what people thought. I have written a couple others, but not sure if I will share them because I don't know anything about poetry, tbh
