Analysis of Healing

They say time will heal all wounds
yet I bleed still.
My severed heart pierced and seared by your blade.
No cure, no little pill.
You walk among the living,
no longer possessing the same soul.
A stranger in the body of a man
these arms used to hold.

Who are you?
What happend?
HOW?
I despise the sight of you now.
I should be better.
I should be over you.
But I'm not better
I'm bitter.
Not over
Drowning under
I guess this healing
Ooh I hate this feeling.
Cutting my soul I feel out a control
God help me please, I just wanna be whole.
Heal me.

The break up's the blessing they say
The rings you gave went back in the box locked away.
I stroke my finger and the feeling remains Like a lost limb with a ghost pain.
Haunted by memories that used to make me smile.
Guess I'll hang on to this pain for awhile.
It doesn't seem to be going,
I wish it was going, I wish it was gone.
Don't know how much longer I can hang on

And they say...
I should be better
I should be moving on
But I'm not better,
I'm bitter
Stuck in the mud
Of my own emotions
This can't be healing.
This treachurous feeling,
Starving my heart
Don't know where I should start.
Heal me.

Tormented by the one who once saved me. Broken by the one who helped me find my pieces.
And you...
You remain unscathed
Scratched, but not scared
Bruised, but not broken.
While I...
Can't find my pieces.
Can't find my peace.
Scared and broken
Left with a heart that can't find the beat.
I love the way I loved you.
I hate that I hate you.
God I know it's been awhile
but I need you now
Need to clear my heart of this pain,
but I don't know how.
Give me hope to believe
Evade my mind of these memories.
Tell me I'll know that love again.
Give me the strength to accept it
faith to believe in it.
Please...
Help me to be whole.

I will be better I will be moving on
No longer bitter
just better
Trust and believe
I won't let you break me
I know this is healing
Embracing this feeling
Patching my heart,
This is where I will start
Healing

About this poem

The pain of a past love is often too present. We go through the pain, it crushes us and slowly we put ourself back together.

Christina Biasiello

I feel I've lived so many lives during my 38 years. I've dreamed, made my dreams come true, and watched some of those dreams crumble along the way. Writing helps me find answers, it helps me heal, it brings me peace, and my hope is that it will do that for others more…
