Analysis of Bitter Pill
Rosemary Nkiru Francis 1982 (Enugu)
The Street- the agony of our past
the uncertainty of our future
here we live
nowhere else is home
Our shattered dreams
our failing hope
like a bird without a nest- we fly
seeking for any available tree
The heat and the cold
the sun and the rain
even the pests
all are tales of our woes
The soundless screams
the bitter love for darkness
Our groaning hearts
All seeking for love
When we fought
many brothers fall
some others stood
but we kept moving
The world is not a fair place
giving us all a fair play
we are not here by choice
this life was forced on us
Shall we ever find comfort
in the arms of these cold darkness
where our future was formed
and our hopes sealed
