Analysis of The me in myself
I am born from misunderstandings and realizations,
From the overthinking at midnight to being stressed about school in the morning
I am torn between choosing right and wrong and when given the chance I take the wrong turn into a deep pit of overwhelming snakes biting and biting at my head until I can no longer keep up with how much they have bitten off, is it my pride, my dignity, or my sanity that is at stake this time?
“Everything is fine, you’re just overreacting”, but to me overreacting is the only logical explanation to the problem at hand, which is better? realizing everything that can go wrong or pretending everything isn’t slowly taking its toll on me?
I am born from the scavenger fending off the snakes and giving me a break from the biting that fills my bloodstream with poison, poisonous thoughts? Maybe... Maybe it’s just me overreacting again.
I am born from the long rides in the car traveling across states with the wind in my face and music blasting through the car turned up till no one could hear themselves think
I loved those days I didn’t have to think; Now I’m older and I have to judge my own ideas; will the snakes wrapping my head get a meal or will I pull through and find a secret tunnel away where my savior, music, can save me from the pit of snakes?
I am born from having too high of standards
I am made from the genes that give me parts of myself I wish to change
Can this body of mine change or am I stuck as an eternal mass filled with thoughts that aren’t my own but someone else’s just living in me?
Can my standards change or are they stuck with me forever?
I am born from standards...they give me things to look for in myself; what if I don’t see those standards?..do I get a second chance to change or am I stuck looking at someone that I don’t wish to be?
I am born from mistakes and realizations. I am born from music and expressing myself. I am born from the challenges I face. I am me.
