Analysis of Recover Or Die

Recover Or Die
                                    March 12, 2017

I’ve been down feels like almost deeper than hell
This is my story that I’m lucky and thankful to be able to tell
The day that we met, I was instantly sold
I entered the gates of hell and didn’t even have the passcode
Instantly locked away forever in its prison
Instantly tired of this life that I was living
I’ve become a serpent and heroin has become my king
I feel like I’m a slave dangling from his puppet strings
Far from fun as I’m staring directly at death
Every regret just tearing through my flesh
I’m so sick and tired of being sick and tired
Then it hit me like lightening motivated by desire
All the agony, pain, and misery had become enough
Felt like there was no way out and didn’t want to be stuck
My faith is blinded and my future I can barely see
Blurry, faded thoughts, only one moment of clarity
Lost all hope and couldn’t seem to believe
That there Was still that chance out there for me
A chance that I could finally break free
I utilized the bad, it’s the force that’s driving me
It’s never going to be easy, but I’m giving it my ALL
No time for mistakes, no room to slip and fall
People talk about us addicts like we’re nothing and we’re worthless
If we put a needle in our arm, then we deserve this
We are someone’s mother, someone’s uncle, and someone’s daughter
Someone’s aunt, someone’s son, and someone’s father
As I continue to write I begin to get chills
This is all from experience, so just know it’s all real
I’m sick of these remarks and opinions from the critics
If you’ve never lived it, then trust me you don’t get it
So many people dying it makes us all sick
This isn’t an epidemic, it’s an apocalypse
As I struggle it’s only right that I fight
This is not a game I’m trying to save my life
You don’t have a clue of what I’ve been through
When I was at my worst, you couldn’t walk a mile in my shoes
I’ve survived a lot so it’s only right that I smile
I’m aware of my surroundings no longer in denial
I’m doing this with courage, I’m doing this with pride
I’m doing this for every victim that has died
I dedicate this to anyone that’s lost a loved one
Don’t take advantage of today, because tomorrow may never come
Embrace your past, don’t be embarrassed
There are more and more kids growing up without their parents
I’ve been given many chances, so this feels like do or die
I’m doing whatever it takes, so my daughter doesn’t have to say goodbye
Push through the struggle, the pain, and the cries
Telling myself everyday
                                FUCK GETTING HIGH
                         THIS IS RECOVER OR DIE!!!
