Analysis of A Perfect Night
Warbard 1967 (Los Angeles)
A perfect night, I’d like to see,
A perfect one for you and me,
The stars, they shine the heavens bright,
A perfect everlasting light.
A perfect night, I’d like to hear,
A breeze that whispers summer’s near,
A bird, he sings a forest tune,
In hope that winter’s never soon.
Sylvan air, to smell this scent,
The fragrance of ten thousand trees,
To feel the streams that mountains sent,
Out to search for distant seas.
But something here is missing,
Something here’s not right,
The most important thing to me,
Has now just come to light.
To make this all the perfect night,
A girl far lovelier than I can write,
And though this poem is lovely, true,
No poem can match the beauty of you.
