Analysis of OUR FEATHERED FIENDS
Avian horrors are filling the air
Shrieking as they traverse the sky,
Looking for anything living to kill
As they go ever swooping by.
Nothing can resist their great hunger
Or survive their evil feeding frenzy,
Sailing across a verdant forest
Or across an angry blue-green sea.
Soaring up on hot air currents
Feathered fiends glide on the breeze,
Looing down for anything moving
As they're flying low above the trees.
Shrieking like hellish banshees
At a volume that could easily deafen,
Passing travellers not far below
As their search comes to an end.
Screeching to signal towards their flock
Sighting people moving on the ground,
Without a single second's hesitation
The feathered terrors all swarm down.
Avian horrors are filling the air
As they search for human meat,
Diving straight towards passersby
Planning very soon to eat.
From on high like Messerschmitts
Raining death down upon the masses,
As they zoom across the airways
Making frequent and deadly passes.
THE END

About this poem
Like other verses I've put up, I originally wrote this as a single haiku. A dozen years later I wrote the multi-verse poem. I did have some trouble converting the haiku into the first 4-line verse, but I managed in the end.
