Analysis of Collective Appeal
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I would like you to know,
About the grace of God;
Of what the churches show,
How to honor and laud.
A test in affliction,
A trial that is severe;
Joy is an addiction,
With wealth that is sincere.
For they gave to their means,
As I can testify;
The Holy Spirit cleans,
No more His Word defy.
Pray for us earnestly,
Favor of taking part;
As humbled modestly,
For relief in the heart.
Not as expected,
But gave first to the Lord;
So sin is rejected,
To be in one accord.
Insomuch desired,
To do what has begun;
That grace is acquired,
As from God through the Son.
To excel in all things,
In faith, speech, and wisdom;
That the love of Christ brings,
Access to His Kingdom.
