Analysis of down by the river
a smell of patchouli in the air it smelled like freedom.
flower in my hair a smile on your face take my hand.
down by the river where the grass is greener the sun is brighter.
we were dancing and singing you played the guitar.
Down by the river when we had no care in this world love meant more than just you and I.
the sun went down we ride our horses until the moon caught us.
down by the river where the flowers were blooming and the water was clear.
Years went by and it’s no more you and I .
Down by the river were we were free and I see you standing there.
smells still like patchouli and freedom down by the river.
