Analysis of LITTLE MAN

Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)

A little man named Rudd the Dud
Is dying to hurt the poor,
He talks a lot about pension rises
But he’s the wolf waiting at the door.

Rudd the Dud is hypnotised
By a dream to help the rich,
He’s sure he can cut the top tax rate
With only a single hitch.

Yes, to help his beloved billionaires
He’s forced to steal from the needy,
Still, he’s never had a single qualm
For he must help the ever greedy.

Yes, Rudd the Dud’s determined
To help his billionaire mates,
He’ll gladly steal from the working class
A class that old Kevin hates.

He’s got to help his mates out
With high-paid jobs for the boys,
And the only ones he’ll have to hurt
Are the hated hoi polloi.

Yes Kevin hates the working classes
He thinks they should be shot,
Instead of wanting handouts
They should be grateful for what they’ve got.

Too bad if they’ve got nothing
Too bad they must live off air,
Little Kevin only helps his mates
And his mates are all billionaires!

THE END
