Analysis of Of Stone
I have no heart
but this one of stone
it’s all that sets me apart.
I hold it tight as I’m alone.
It’s hard and cold and I like it.
It doesn’t bleed, it doesn’t care
it doesn’t cry out loud.
It’s bitter but its sweet compared
to being alone in a crowd.
I like my heart defiant born
in simple sweet perfection.
I never have to worry for
its blind to misdirection.
So tear this heart from flesh and bone
kick it - stomp it - beat it.
You can’t hurt something
that’s made of stone.
And though it’s hard and cold…
I like it.
