Analysis of The Heart That Swims The Ocean

Sherry Caayupan 1980 (Davao city)

I could feel your breath,
The life that devours my soul;
A heartful surrender to love's forgiving debt,
Left with nothing nor all;

My fingers explore your manly glory,
Your body in unregretting awe;
The love, the dignified ecstasy,
All there it's you I saw;

Your timely kiss as if lost time,
The clock ticks on the twelfth of never;
Our hands cross and never lie,
Like kisses that you deliver;

Like in another life,
Your masculine heart entered in mine;
All the cares, all the strife,
Gone as I praised a holy shrine;

Our love summoned a voyage,
Emerged from your scrutiny;
It's young, fragile of age,
The rest purely history.
