born in Kuwait and raised in Vancouver, BC, i have always felt like a misfit. not being traditional enough in correlation to my Arab background, and not open minded enough for Western culture. dealing with anxiety, ADHD, depression, conversion disorder and epilepsy in a culture that does not believe in the conception of mental health whilst trying to find myself and my purpose; i have documented all my emotions into a series of short poems that touch on love, loss and mental health - three components that cannot coexist without one another. my poetry is untraditional, new and simple, with one agenda - to make you feel something. the purpose is to make readers feel more connected and less alone by allowing themselves to feel and express their emotions through my words when they have nobody to trust. i hope you feel something.
