I live in small Island in the Caribbean, called Barbados. From a very young age I have always dreamed of being a poet and author, and have held a passion for poetry and writing, for many years. Writing has been my solace during some very difficult times in my life. As a young girl, I embarked on a course of study, by the Writer's Bureau in February 2001, called "Creative Writing", but some time into the course, I was forced to discontinue my studies, due to personal challenges. Since then, my life has taken a different path, and my dream of poetry and writing was shelved for many, many years, until now, when it was recently revived. While cleaning, I came across a small selection of poems which I had written during that difficult time, but was never able to publicize them. The memories of my dream came rushing back to me, and it was then that I realize, my dream had never died. Hence the reason I've decided to pursue my passion. My first step is to surround myself with people of acclaim in poetry and writing, with whom I can share my love of poetry, and draw from the wealth of experience which they possess.
