Poems »

I write quite silly poems and there’s a method to my madness. I simply ask the people around me to give me the first silliest scenario that comes into their head. Even if it doesn’t make sense or seems impossible. I have poems about dogs brushing their teeth, elephants on bicycles, a bereaved sock who lost his other half in the wash and many more silly situations. I do however do the occasional more “serious” poems as a means of expressing myself and my emotions when normal words and conversations seem tricky. I love the smiles I get from these silly rhymes however, from my family and from the children I have worked with and these bring me the most joy in composing.
