CELIA P DONGUINES

I was born in Guam. My parents are both from the Philippines and migrated to Guam when my Dad was hired to rebuild the island right after WW II. He was a self-made general "contractor". I started writing poetry in the third grade, inspired by my mother who was always reading poems. She never once wrote one. I'm a Registered Nurse by profession, and now retired after 50 years, employed at several medical centers, mostly in the ICU and outpatient Hemodialysis, since 2023. I am happily married for 45 years, two sons and one grandson who is now three years old. Still writing poetry off and on to this day since 1988, and turning 74 this year. Just blessed!
