The Darkness of the Blue

As you prepare yourself for the leap,
Through the air of the ocean-
Into the watery substances of the deep.

Beating its wings to change the weather,
The kingfisher scours around for you-
While drawing itself hither.

As you prepare for your motion upsweep,
Comrades insist you return-
Into the watery substances of the deep.

As the nimble tail does through air slither,
Bracing for the coup de grace-
While drawing itself hither.

As you lead the songster to its bo-peep,
King of all fishers flabbergasted-
While drawing itself hither,
Into the watery substances of the deep.
