Ashes to Ashes

Cycle spins round and round
Burning everything to the ground
This heart battered and bruised
There’s nothing left that hasn’t been used

This pain feeds the beast inside
While these scars I’m trying to hide
I still reach out to give you a hand
Only to feel myself fall deeper in the sand

All the days the words were never right
While I bury this heart, wounded from the fight
Bodies pile up along the ground
As this wheel spins round

I didn’t know which words to keep
I don’t even have energy for sleep
As the cycle spins round and round
Burning everything to the ground
