Her Name Was Rose
Casey Sean Martin 1987 (Philadelphia)
It was a hot summer night
Last night before my flight
My crew and I needed a bite
We looked up places
Chinese cuisine
And Italian Delight
Who knew it’d be the
Worst choice of my life
That’s the night
I swear,
I met my future wife
Her name was Rose,
I met her in Mexico
And she left with
Someone she knows
The scene was a fine dine
Me and the guys
They sat us next to her
And her friends
Oh yeah and him
Her bf
and he was
going heavy on the gin
It gave us time
to share some wine
Talk past times
and zodiac signs
Looking back
I remember the eyes
They never lie...
From the moment
we sat down
Both of us saw
what we had found
It felt like just us,
and the world around
9 turned to 2
Her friends wanted to leave
And so did my crew
She wasn’t ready yet
For the night to be through
She wanted to
Show us her hotel
And that’s when he yelled
Rose lets go
Our eyes looked
And went oh no
This is the moment
We have to go
We said our best good bye
And she went off in the night
Her name was Rose
I met her in Mexico
And she left with
Someone she knows
I was sleepless that night
And i’ve been ever since
Why is it the 1st that wins
I met her second
But what are
We measuring
What if us two
Could last forever
I ask again
What do we measure
Time can be a crime
But that’s how it goes
Her name was Rose
I met her in Mexico
And she left with
Someone she knows
