Walk This Path Alone

She walks along the dark pathway
Blusters of wind gush by
Fear's grip is ever so tight, and yet
She cannot turn away
She cannot stop her ascension
Down this dark and winding path

Alone she walks
Through the twisted wooded path
Leaves rustle, wind howels, birds squack
She shuts her ears to drown it out
But louder it still gets
Cries and shouts
Bangs and booms
Schreeching and wailing
It is all too much

Desperation seeps through
She speaks
But no one hears
She screams
But no one hears
She cries
But no one cares
She walks this path alone

The exit long since disappeared
Dread looms in deeper still
How to escape this retched way?

He is here
Lost along his own path, sure
But a path that which lies here
She hears of he
Down his own way to destruction
Yet to pertinacious to seek nurturance he so needs

She knows not what to do
How to free herself this time around?
How to free his soul again?
How to beat this path and not return

Desparing she calls out to he:
“Alas! Something needs to change
We cannot keep going down these roads
For each time we leave something of ourselves
What have we left when we finally reach its murky end?
We need to get away now before its too late
Please before we diminish to no more”

She wonders
Can together they make it out?
Can they feed off each other
To gain the strength much needed
To overcome these dark and winding roads?

For now she does not know
For, for now she walks alone.
