Thirty
A year older, I thought
This day would never come to pass.
When Yeager broke the "sound barrier,"
It was history for the world,
And so, it was for me--
I arrived. I learned from Nanay that
There was not much of a cry,
Until a score and seven years later.
When I left home...I cried a river,
And my Nanay and Tatay--a fall.
These days things have ended to amuse me,
Other than when I see my children play,
And they enjoy it because
It's just the thing to do;
Other than when I hear my Marianne
Sing like an angel.
Is this the end, as would a story
Or an essay? Anden told me so, and
I'm inclined to agree...this day at
Thirty.
