The ticking

1, 2, 3, 4
the timing resonates at the door
1, 2, 3, 4
the sound continues ever more
It's getting late
and I can not think
Whatever shall I contemplate
No whirling winds nor sounds of the past
to keep my darkest thoughts in strange contrast
Missing the ticking so alone
longing for its rhythmic sound
that captivates and abound
Where has it all gone
No winding no charging no changing at all
1, 2, 3, 4
the sounds gone flat down the hall
1, 2, 3
No more!
