Sea Standing

When we are old and full of wishful thinking,
will we remember this?
Sunday afternoon and Dublin-hot
we linger over the black rocks at Dun Laoghaire.
Sealit, we watch the boats slide past to Wales
paddling the summer-cold water.
And looking across at you I wondered:
when we are old and full of wishful thinking,
will we remember this?
