Eclipse

The longest eclipse we will ever see,
A phenomenon rare, for you and me,
One thousand years, before- being matched again,
This is special, it'll linger and remain!
The earth's shadow- kissed by the moon ,
Then darkness descended and all too soon,
Nearly two hours, and it remained -so.
Then through cloud, again it would glow!
Seventeenth of July, this event did unfold,
An unusual sight to capture and hold,
Here it speaks of love and romance,
Also 'twas spectacular during our brief glance.
Traces of red, rays from the sun,
Just after two it's over and done,
Now we wait to watch the skies,
Wonder with awe at our next surprise.

I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
