Broken promises have an amazing power

They can break your heart and turn good feelins sour.

They can cause eyes that are dry

To become wet as you cry.

When a promise is made it makes a person glad

But a broken promise makes that same person sad.

I wish people would stop making promises to me

Only to break the promise made you see.
