the brevity of beauty
and how time withers glow.

Dream makers of the vespers,
how softly you must trace
the brevity of beauty
and how time crimps efface.

Ice carvers of the summers,
how firmly you must sense
the brevity of beauty
and how time melts suspense.

Tag schemers of the icons,
how lightly you must taste
the brevity of beauty
and how time masks lambaste.

Sand sculptors of the beaches,
how deeply you must feel
the brevity of beauty
and how time flaws reveal.

Word merchants of the fables,
how clearly you must view
the brevity of beauty
and how time abrades you.
