Black

Black to some may just be a color
But when I hear the word Black I feel it inside
All the stories of hardship that bring so much pride
To me this pride is what my ancestors gave
Because I am why they fought as slaves
All the pain and the suffering just so I could be free
I am Black by nature by choice proud to be
I'm not afraid or ashamed to say it aloud
Because to me being Black means being proud
