Avaricious

Imagine your life without you....
Unimaginable some may say.
Although you take it for granted....
You virtually wish it away.
Looking as a pessimist, on optimistic eyes...
Concerned with a life that isn't yours, forgetting about your prize.
Foresaking what is pure...Indulging in temptuous lure.
Expecting all to be given, without sacrifice to endure.
How much can be taken....Without resentment shown?
Eventually blindsided, then overthrown.
You are no better, yet you entitle your flesh...
In the route you travel, you're bound to enmesh.
Forgiveness will be few, possibly far behind...
On that final day, I will live with peace of mind.
