Attention In The Change Room!

This poem is written for Wesley Mouton, "Mouttee" some called him, but he loved to be called "Po Devil". Moutee worked at Cote Blanche Mine in Louisianna for 40 plus years and left us unexpectedly last week and is sadly missed by all his freinds and especially his family. This is for you Mouttee.

Attention in the Change Room,
you would always hear.
Attention in the Change Room,
you knew the mine was clear.

He always had a smile
each time he greeted you,
He'd always share a thought,
even a ryhme ot two.

He spent his time at this old mine,
for 40 years or more,
He'd sing and song, tell a joke
and always smiled,
When you opened the hoist room door.

He would always gave us updates
when an important game was on,
He complained, then he laughed,
It went on and on and on.

So let's keep our Friend
in our hearts,
and if you listen you might hear.
Attention in the Change Room,
You know "Po Devils" spirit
It's really very near!

Edward Willard

I have been working in the mining industry, yes underground for 32 plus years, I have seen alot of people come and go and miners are their own breed of people. Yes some are college educated and love our jobs. As for me, I enjoy reading other peoples thoughts, and I try to find something good to say about most people and try to be a positive influence on my employees and all people in my everyday life. I have been through some very dark times in my life, most have been brought on by myself, but by the grace of God and alot of self thinking and searching I have overcome most things in life. I try to always be a positive role model and have learned most things in life the hard way. Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts and your remarks are truely welcome good or bad. I for one Love Poetry.com and being back on line and being able to retrieve my old poetry was awesome! My wish is that we all can find a way to communicate via email if possible to share our lifes experiences and to be there for one another. I can be reached at willarde@compassminerals.com or motoxrat58@yahoo.com. Have a Blessed day and keep writing. All of your work absolutely and truely brightens my days!Ed more…
