An Ode To Ibuprofen

I remember riding my first bull
it was on my brother's back in grandma's front yard
I bucked off and hit my head on the water-meter cover
I got five stitches and a proud moment
I lost my favorite bike to an oncoming LTD
I woke up beside a lightpole in shock
walking away with only grass stains
on my jeans
three brothers wrestling on a double-bed
resulting in a trip to the emergency room
I begged him to flip me
that obese football coach who taught
me how to hurt my neck and back
tackling with my head down
he was the biggest guy on the team
thanks coach!
two stomped knees and a broken arm
from riding real bulls
memories can be painful unless you
pop the cap and chase them with water.
