An Asegai
Walk right and straight tight!
Sensing victory in your belly
Many you left behind, many you loved yet you left
Many in mind, yet you did not mind
Many you wounded, yet you needed them
Strengthened by the power of the bearer
I feel safe, I feel sound in fact I am sound
My delight is in vengeance my quest is blood
I am thirsty please give me a drink
I am an assegai
Many names I have been called
A spear they have called me
I am what you make me,
Your weapon if you can allow me to
Your enemy if you allow me to,
Both to the bearer and the borrower
Now I was made yesterday
The same day yesterday, I was just a sheet of metal
How I am made, it is where I derive my strength from
From the gashes of fire in the art-most heat
From this heat I come out blazing,
I am blazing for freedom
I am blazing for glory
Would you believe me now if I say that
I am indeed an assegai
Born tall, yet in due time my growth was shortened
I call this a lighter sentence
I did not resist my power
My power came at the helm of my height
The shorter the better, the shorter the faster
I am a blaze; I was created through the blaze
I work with warlords, I work with cowards
Be warned I am an assegai
