An Animated Performance

The crowd stood inside silent blue poses
while make-up gathered their wide expressions
and mouths gaped open as footsteps climbed air.

A spirited defence of abstract art
collided in the visions I portrayed.

Animated characteristics swerved
across ardent energy as these shoes
specialised in the vivacious folk dance
that now travelled to other's courageous
throws of appreciation's currency.

I bowed low then proceeded to bring joy
to those that watched this adept performance.

A golden sun winked at me as I slipped
into another guise and pretended
to whisper a secret to the bright stars
which hid behind a copper afternoon.

As an ancient Greek farce I coughed language
politely and stepped into ludicrous
actions once more while my trapped audience
hung on every gesture that swam from me.

Finally, with a salt and pepper nod
I completed the show and wiped my mask
away to reveal I was but a man.
