An Angel Named Cherokee

Here in our home we delivered you with excited hands
Maw-maw and Paw-paw cleaned you and made plans
So very sweet and beautiful as you gave your first squeak
In awe of you, we couldn''t breathe, or barely speak
Maw-maw''s angel and Paw-paw''s little ray of light
We''ve loved you from day one, and prayed for you every night
It''s been 9 months now and you still take our breath
But Saturday God took you home, it''s called crib death
Love of our life, heart of our body you''ll always be
In our dreams you''ll live on, just wait and see
Now you''re in heaven, playing and crawling at God''s feet
All the angles rejoice, your relatives you will meet
Today I seen Jesus holding your hands as you learned to walk
Listen to Him precious one, and He will teach you to talk
Beloved little one, our sparkling angel in God''s care
One day we''ll come in heaven''s gate and say, "there''s our booger-bear"
We''ll gather you up and bounce you on our knee
For you are our angel, an angel named Cherokee
