A Lovely Future

Far away off in the future
In a cloud that is all but gay
The shining blue of young love’s tears
Will give a tiny kiss to gray.

Gray meaning love that is stable.
Gray meaning love that is true.
Balancing out the dynamic
And perfectly completing blue.

The colors will mesh and tangle
As they start to fall long and hard
Landing in grass so blithe and green
That the rest of the world looks marred.

Rainbows will be superfluous,
And lovebirds will sing songs for naught
The world’s largest ocean of love
Is harbored in one tiny drop.

Poetry is, and should be, the essence of a person. Like a painting, a fingerprint, or the unique way each person's eyes sparkle, poetry cannot be copied or replicated. That's what I love about it. I write to get stuff off my chest. I write in the hopes that someone out there understands how I feel.Thank you all for putting your hearts out there. I love reading your poetry.A lot of the stuff I post here isn't posted anywhere else. This site is like a private journal for me, except I actually get to share my feelings with someone else. I love reading reviews of my poems from people I've never ever met before. Somehow, not knowing you all personally except through your poetry is totally freeing to me. In a way, you are all some of my best friends. Thank you for reading/rating/reviewing. I promise to return the favor each time I see your name on my site.<3 aVividOverdose more…
