A Bottle in Hand

I lay on the ground and cried.
Why, oh why, did I have to die?
I saw it happen before me.
It was the only thing I could see.

Watching it caused me much pain.
I was driving too fast in the rain.
With a half full bottle in my hand.
No way I would miss the band.

My mind it could not grasp.
It all happened way too fast.
The car just slammed into a tree.
And in that, it was the end of me.

I rose off the ground and cried.
Why, oh why, did I have to die?
