A Bask in the Sun
Breath after breath I keep taking in,
As sunlight glistens off of waterdropped skin
And seabreeze flows gently through the soft, springtime air
Me on the sand, in the warmth with no care.
I am tireless of this atmosphere
Though rather annoyed with the gulls so near
As the ocean waves ebb ever so close
To the point where I imagine water brushing my toes
It takes me to a whole different place
When I was a slightly younger face
And all I could think to do was explore
All the sights and sounds that played along the shore
When I open my eyes all I see is the dark,--
From the shades overshadowed-- I see sunlight sparkle.
It dances upon the vast, endless sea,
And all the relaxation flows always, back to me.
