Beautiful Darkness

Like a flower wilting
I felt myself fade

I felt unsafe in my own skin
buried within myself

seeking mercy from the non-existent

maybe if I close my eyes just once
it would go away

maybe i'll forget

maybe i'll feel better

maybe, just maybe
i'll heal

or maybe i'll end up destroying myself

either way.....I'll lose

no amount of redemption could save me

I am lost in a wilderness of my own making

make it stop!

for a second I forgot I was alone

I have always been alone

today is especially lonely

the sadness from within is finally slipping through the cracks

trying to reveal itself to an unfamiliar light

it burns

it's been too dark for too long

i slowly fade back into the darkness

because it is more comforting to the soul
