A word from the wise

Sean Porter 1994 (New York)

Today I was inspired
Long weekend a little tired
but I noticed that that bar was set a little higher well at least a little higher than I last admired back before I retired
when I had to hire a wire to fire a liar
and then fly her a flyer
for her flyest desire
And an anynomous designer
for a keen reminder to focus on what's ahead of her not behind her.
Because with life coming head on to her the headlights blind her
but she's got a head on her that someday will find her.
But nevertheless I  measured my quest
teathered my nest
and treasured my chest
But most importantly I bettered my best and raise the bar back to the level I should request,
threaded the needle and severed the rest. I made some ties, yeah I guess
but double knotted them knots and mom was impressed.
But now new chicks  be learning new tricks
bitches tipping stripping and
God knows even tripping in Velcros
cuz vans are the best but they cant even stand still when they stressed
cuz their strap on there dress was only as strong as the trust in their ex,
now you wanna text?don't be a pest.
I'll get the best pest control money can buy so You stroll to the bar I'll be here at my desk
and if so be a patrol car upon your request
I'd leave it to my unwelcome next guest's uneducated best guess
but not stop at these hypothesis
but rather stop with the hypocrisy
and probably layback searching for payback I'll never find like needles in a haystack,
but never forget the fact that you could be on the right track
but still get run over like a flashback
like the lessons learned from blackjack.  It's not about the cards you're dealt but  how you play the hand
and your not judged on how tall you walk but simply how tall you stand.
Anywho, without further adieu
Needless to say my struggles been thru, you need less to say the troubles you do and state more about the dreams you pursue
but if you need me to wait
for this pointless debate
ill hook line and sinker
and master debate.
Truth be told, proof can be sold, innocence bought like fools gold
just to be some sob story some fool told Know your worth and pull your weight and question if it's worth the wait.
Time is precious know the rate,
thirst for knowledge not a date
let tinder Hinder ,but feel no hate  because good things come to those who wait.
