pain of war

Gregory Ramos 1961 (Azusa)

pain of war
overhead burning sky
across the raging field
where the burdens have died
overcast bloody shield

from the battle of will
sub scopes watch one clean eye
subterranean kill
no air why even try

forward we go last breath
bullets hit infantry
foxholes screams smoke and death
no hope no apathy

flag draped casket to send
so for life has been raped
and in time it will end
war is the final fate
