The lights are lit

Mark cloutier 1972 (Kaneohe)

The lights are lit
In eyes full of night
As the moon is in view
And the outer darkness
Casts the children of the kingdom
Into the lights of the night
As it rises upon a smile
And a face that never replaces
Those who follow the day
And are casted into the inner
Which the outer lights
Each face as a day
That fills the time
Of each place
Of a picture of a thousand faces
And a still of an end of days
As the children are lit
As stars and eyes of the night
And when they fall
They will rise again
In the end as the dead
