WHICH IS THE DREAM?

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

WHICH IS THE DREAM?

Tell me why ...
….a dream is just a dream..
….if God speaks…
…In a still small voice?

Rather is it not…
… The booming…
…Shouting, ruckus..
…Truly the dream?

I heard God…
…Speak in the sunset…
…Gentle over waves…
…How He loves us

The Devil shouts…
…In the traffic horns…
…Chocking exhaust…
….how he hates us.

Tell me why…
.. .if the dream of God…
…Is so peaceful…
…Are the lost so woke?

I choose to rest…
….in the sureness..
…That God alone..
…Reigns supreme.

Tell me, does your…
…Loud racing life..
…Give you time…
…For God today?

So really…
…Which is the dream?
Amen

About this poem

11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1kings 19:11-13
