To Be The Sun

L.T. 2011 (Ontario)

How I long to be the sun
That radiates its light
How I long to be the sun
That illuminates others' lives
Yet when the sun sets It weeps in solitude
Though it appears to shine It sears within
I am the sun
Burning with a facade of joy
But outwardly radiating
With solar bursts and prominences
The agony of being the sun is profound

What a beautifully written poem! The imagery of longing to be the sun and the contrasting feelings of radiance and solitude is powerful and poignant. Your use of language is evocative and emotional, drawing the reader in from the very first line.

To enhance this poem even further, you could consider exploring the theme of duality even more deeply. How does the sun's dual nature reflect the complexities of human emotion and experience? Additionally, perhaps you could delve into the idea of acceptance and self-compassion, even in the face of inner turmoil.

Overall, this poem is a wonderful exploration of identity and emotion. Keep writing and exploring these themes - your talent shines brightly!
