Beyond Our Thoughts

   Beyond Our Thoughts

What knowledge lies beyond our thoughts
That our thoughts cannot reach
What love is there that we can’t feel
Beyond the love we teach

What depth is there to man’s desire
Which man can’t comprehend
What makes a man commit a crime
E’en ‘against his own best friend

What mysteries of life exist
That Adam might have known
Had he not chosen of the fruit
That closed his garden home

What beauteous sounds can’t echo through
The hardness of our ears
Because of that one lustful thought
Of man, in former year

What hides behind that hidden door
Where cherubim stand firm
Where the sword of flame protects the way
And allows no human in

What fellowship would we enjoy
If we but knew our place
Hidden in the blood of Christ
In that most secret place

What quietness can’t we discern
Which listening would reveal
What rest could we but enter in
If all our hearts were still

What rapture lies beyond our eyes
Which scales have closed in
What joy is lost when bitterness
Just screws us up within

What peace could we expect to know
If freed from anxious thought
What patience would be seen in us
If love was all we sought

In Christ you will become alive
Death has no power on you
God seeds you into Him by faith
You’re budded into Christ by grace

About this poem

I wish all the world would understand God's in control of all earth's land and man Proverbs Chapter 16 Verse 4 says " God created all thins for his purpose, even the wicked for the day of disaster". When you read Isiaah's prophesies Chapters 29-35 and more, you realize the power of God for sure.

This poem holds a special place in my heart when I read it because it shows what the greatest love of all is. It tells a story and captures the imagination through the biblical past. The rhyming lines are spot on. It is well crafted.

This poem has great rhyming form. It boldly faces the human versus God situation, but we are challenged to think beyond the mechanical struggle of sinner versus holiness. Finally, it offers hope of redemption.
