Red Flags
Going to keep my eyes open in the back of my head,
Watchful where we roam.
Going to creep up on the future before it's fled,
Keep us dry and home.
But there I go again
Thinking it's alright
Can't see the red flags waving
In the bright green light
Going to lighten the rain, going to filter the flood,
Wash away every stain.
Going to brighten the sun, going to purify blood,
Wickedness disdain.
But there I go again
Thinking it's alright
Can't see the red flags waving
In the bright green light
But no I will not shut the shade
No I won't sunglass my eyes
If all I see is red red flags
My life they'll paralyze.
Going to bottle my fears, going to drink up my pain,
Spill not a drop of my past.
Going to throttle my mind, going to winter my brain,
Freeze all the dread at last.
Going to clock the blush when it touches your cheek,
When anger starts to rise.
Going to lock my tongue before I speak,
Bring the love back to your eyes.
But there I go again
Thinking it's alright
Can't see the red flags waving
In the bright green light
Can't see the red flags waving
Waving in the bright green light
