Make It End

10 years, or more...
More than just a few closed doors

This sorrow has no end,
But you said it'd be okay.
I only want to cry,
But it seems this well has run dry

Still,
I remember you promised
to wipe away every tear from my eyes
Why am I not surprised?
If you're really by my side,
Then why can't I sleep at night?

Your righteousness and truth,
I'll turn around,
And give it back to you
Because I can't find the way,
If the darkness never fades

There's never any good news anymore,
And when there is,
It's a lie!
I just cannot wait
I cant take another day
Nothing stops the pain
Or mends the brokenness inside

Your love doesn't end,
But even God can't heal this,
My friend
Only the bad guys ever win...

All that's left to say
Is goodbye--
To my life, my love, my loss, and my hurt
At any cost

I never want to feel this again
I will never see you,
Hear you, feel you,
Or be home again;
And I'm sorry that I can't stay,
But this is how my sad story ends.

Just make it end.

About this poem

This is just one of my anti-prayer vent sessions. Frustration with unfaithful spouse, divorce, miscarriage, and trying to lean on anyone (including God) to get through when the hits just keep coming. At some point, it seems like all you can do is throw your hands up and be done with all of it. Nobody likes being stuck on repeat like a broken record.
