SILENCE FALLS

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

SILENCE FALLS

I saw the storm arise
The lightning flash,
Blinding my eyes
Thunder crash
As the waves roar
Towards a distant shore

I fell silent, as He stood
As the wind tore past His hair
then He spoke, as only He could
“Be still!” He commands the air
And silence fell on the sea
Silence fell on me

The enemies advance
All around me
There's no chance
None that I see
The rifles fired as one
Oh Lord, the Battle’s done

I raised my eyes as your hand
Stopped the bullets path
In His Grace I now stand
As He turned the enemies wrath
And silence fell in War’s fury
Silence fell on me

The doc rushed in
And burnt my heart
Revive me again
My breathing starts
I lay, still in my bed
Near as I was to dead

I watched Him stand
And His touch He heals
I felt His scar torn hand
Take away my ills
And silence fell on infirmary
Silence fell on me

See the world rush past
Day to day we run
Lord can this pace last?
Where we're never done
And never hear
Or feel you near

You say, “Be Still!
Be still and know I am Lord!”
So I bow before Your will
I fall down before my Lord
Silence falls as far as I see
Silence falls on me…

Be still….
….in silence…
…Hear the small voice…
…As silence falls ..
….on me.
AMEN
