Last Poem For My Savage...

I lost the love of my life today,
He isn't the man I knew.
He had changed, I realized,
I was the one that grew.

Time has a way of changing
                                 things.

Be it life, or love, or a man.
We use to say "for better or worse"
I thought you were my forever plan.

I could see the changes
I heard them in his voice,
Soon, I knew, I'd have to make
                                  a choice.

Could I love you, as you are today?
Should I leave now?
Or should I stay?

Your actions seemed forced,
Your words sound empty.

As my heart was breaking,
There could be no more faking
The truth is too clear to ignore.

Your eyes use to sparkle,
In my blue eyes of love
Now all I see,
Is pure black, staring back at me.
From the man you use to be.

If only you could see,
How wonderful our lives sould be.
Forever my savage, I thought you would be.

Now I have to say goodbye.

But it was all just a game,
You still show no shame.
As your heart has turned into ice.

How good did it feel,
As you twisted that knife,
Into the back of the women,
You said you'd love
The rest of your life?

You felt nothing..

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I knew I had to say goodbye to the man I loved. For 9 yrs, I thought there was love, but realized it was 1 sided. I'm still dealing with it. But, this too shall pass.
