THE EYES OF THE KING

THE EYES OF THE KING

Look into His eyes,
The eyes of Heaven's King
Creator of sea and skies
Lord of everything
He stepped out of Heaven above
To seek the lost
Expression of His love
Is nailed to the Cross

His eyes are filled with fire!
He'll never back away
His Father is His desire
In every word that He'll say
See the Spirit descend as a dove
Hear the Voice of Heaven ring
" this is the Son I love,
Bow before earth's King!"

It's in the eyes that heal
Compassion for us all
The Son of the God of Israel
Lifting Heaven's Call
But some turn away
Don't hear a thing
Their plots and plans they lay
To kill their God and King

His eyes are filled with pain
Bleeding from the thorn
But He'll not complain
For this He was born
Stripes across His back
As the Prophets all did sing
See the Roman plaque
"Jesus,Isreal's King!"

And they crucified Him between two theives
One on either side
Each represents what man believes
What we must decide
One says," Your King is dead!
And soon you will be!"
The other says, "I don't know what's ahead,
Jesus remember me!"
One's lifted to the skies
Curses God and dies
The other doesn't know a thing
'Cept the Eyes of the King

His Eyes slowly close
In the final hour
This is the path He Chose
To show God's love and Power
As His head bows to his chest
And He gives us His everything
He knows all generations are blessed
By this Crucified King

His Eyes are filled with POWER!
On that third and final day
Jesus overcame the darkest hour
And the stone was thrown away!
Angels declare the news
And believers start to sing
"Come ye nations, bow and choose!
Behold your RISEN KING!!!
AMEN

About this poem

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
