The Inner Ghost Embrace
In a murky night
A full moon lit above in the skies
Shut windows, a creaking door
And a room of dusty dull.
It's voice illuminates the air
All that runs in my blood, is
What it feeds to me...
It's lies.
Eyes sealed, focusing
On blocking out it's hissing.
It's slithering words racing through my mind,
As I pluck each one out.
Being bitten and filled by its poison.
No cure for the rupturing pain within.
None made and none found.
As there's constant rings of its shouts.
Again and again.
My name being called.
I swallow hard, beginning to drown out the sound.
Once more...
I am called and loud.
Light enters my dilated pupils.
The sound of my sobbing,
Makes way to my ear.
A dead like blank stare reflects of me.
As I behold my ghost standing,
Before me here.
And so,
I take a heavy breath,
Staring blankly,
Lift my head high, and
I embrace its cold touch.
About this poem
Embracing your inner most dark side within you isn't always pleasing or willingly done. The encounter is less likely to happen. This poem is about a person in atmosphere of both horror and calm. Experiencing the echo and call to the dark side of themselves. The pull and push factor due to the resistance of the person but the undying efforts put in from the voice is endless. Eventually tiring out and realising there's a peaceful chaos to it. The person embraces their dark side, allowing it to take control. more »
